Well you have proberbly come to realise that Internet Marketing is not a "Get Rich Quick" scheme or some sort of Multi level Network with inspirational "Conferences" at some well known hotel chain that encourages you to go out and spread the word that their laundry detergent, toothpaste or cosmetic range is going to change peoples lives and whoever joins the "Winning Team" is going to be able to leave their job and live a life of luxury forever with the millions they are going to make when they network all their friends, relatives... and anyone else who is unfortunate enough to get roped into the pipe dream. The opening line is usually along the lines of:
"Hey buddy, some friends of mine have introduced me to an awesome concept, and we're all really excited about it, they're making an absolute killing on this product..... come round to our house tomorrow evening at 6 and we will tell you all about it"Yup, i've been there and done that, when i lived in Germany many years ago i got roped into hte incredible world of AMWAY. Actually i quite enjoyed it and got quite good at doing the presentations... I wore a black suit and i used to use a white board with colored dry marker pens and it was all very cheesy. Of course at the time we all felt very important and business-like.
After a few weeks you get introduced to people further up the chain and you start getting invited to the conferences which are usually in the big expensive hotels.
All quite good fun at the time, however, i am still not a millionaire despite selling quite a bit of "Product" to just about anyone who i managed to talk to and turn the conversation round to the "Product". Almost everyone i knew had bought something from me, whether it was laundry powder (that stuff was quite good but obcenely expensive) or personal care products. My wife got into the cosmetic side of the business and started having cosmetic product parties I particularly enjoyed those because i was banished from the house, so me and the other unfortunate husbands had to go and amuse our selves down the local drinking establishment for the evening.
Anyhoo, i have gone completely off track with this post, believe it or not it was supposed to be about other money making ideas that would give you instant money to help finance you new internet projects. Getting started in IM (Internet Marketing) isnt expensive, so far i have paid out $43 and that has got me a website name http://www.snowbird.me/ and a hosting company to put it on the 'net, an autoresponder account and my first subscription to Chris's teaching site
I know that's only pocket change but it makes it more fun, and i think a little more personal if you can fund it from another project. That's what works for me anyway. So how do you fund your business start-up i hear you ask ???
Well that is a very good question, when i look at making money i look at in 2 timeframes:
Instant money is the easiest to get... you do some work and get paid for it. This is the easiest money to come by and you get it straight away, there are literally hundreds of ways to make money through the computer, unfortunately it will never get you rich (despite all the adverts) although it will put some money in your pocket.
Investment..... this is the guy that is going to make you rich, and this is the one that is harder to attain. This is our Internet Marketing... our real business if you like. This is the one that we invest our time into now and gradually build, we nurture it over the months and the years. We experiment with it, if something works, keep it... if it doesn't disregard it and try something else. Have you ever heared the saying "You reap what you sew".
Well i was going to introduce some instant money ideas in this post but in my own true style I have rambled on and run out of time. Incidently, it is now 03:10 in the morning and if i don't stop now the wife is going to find me slumped over the keyboard in the morning, snoring like an express train and drooling into the gap between the SPACE BAR and the CVBNM keys...... ha-ha horrible thought eh?
Anyway folks...... till next time.
