Halloween Virus Spreading Throughout Google Plus

If you’re a Google+ member, you might have noticed a change in some of Google’s top executives’ profile pictures today. Spiders, fangs, and blank black eyes are creeping up everywhere, from Google’s senior VP of engineering to their chief business officer.

But what is it exactly and is your profile pic at risk? The Halloween-themed pictures are a creative way to promote the latest Google+ feature, Creative Kit. Creative Kit is a photo editing tool that allows you to “have more fun with your photos” by adding text, sharpening your images, giving them a vintage-look, turning them black and white, and more.

And the creepy fangs on their execs? Google explains:

“Of course: they also think photo editing should be lots of fun. So they’ve added some limited-edition Halloween effects to the Creative Kit, and we’re inviting everyone on Google+ to join a ghoulish (and good-spirited) photo competition.

Through the end of October, simply add some spook to your photos, and share them publicly on Google+ with the hashtag #gplushalloween. We’ll assemble a surprise panel of celebrities, and next Thursday, Nov 3, they’ll announce their favorites.”

If you haven’t seen the Creative Kit show up in your Google+ account just yet, don’t worry. The feature should be spreading to all accounts soon enough. Muahahahaha.
