As you can probably already see we have notched it up a gear at Snowbird.ME. I actually stumbled upon some fantastic affiliate schemes and took advantage of their offers. Believe it or not I actually discovered all of this opportunity while I was looking for something specific.
I had this great idea last week that I was going to promote Weight Watchers. The idea seemed perfect, it is a huge International company and the great thing is that I have actually used the company myself. I have been signed up for just over a year and lost about 30 pounds ( unfortunately I have put some of that back on though)
I searched their site and found where to sign up as an affiliate, put my application in and waited. Their decision was to not accept me as an affiliate because (I think) my websites are not specific to weight loss or health. I have to admit I was a little shocked and a little disappointed ( for a few seconds anyway)
Every cloud has a silver lining, as they say, and I stumbled on some great companies who show some fantastic potential. While I was doing all this research I also came up with another idea. An idea so clever I almost fell off my computer seat.
You see I started Blogging about 5 years ago when I first had the idea of moving to Canada. This Blog has been running successfully since January 2007 and averages 3 to 4 thousand hits per month. The Bog charts our family's journey from being a Lorry Driver in Gloucester United Kingdom to being a North American Long Haul Trucker in Canada. While I was on the road between July 2007 and January 2009 I was Blogging almost every day, it is almost like a diary with tons of pictures from all around Canada and the United States, it also has a huge following.
There was 2 problems with the Blog, first of all it was in the origional formatting which looked great in 2007 but looks a little jaded in 2011. The second problem was that I was no longer a trucker so I no longer had interesting stories to tell. Basically the Blog had run it's course.
Earlier on this year I decided to change the theme and I started Blogging about our camping adventures, however, with the creation of this Blog it went back onto the back burner. Anyway this weekend I have revamped it and smartened it up. I have tidied up the photographs and the formatting and placed a frame of adverts down each side.
Please take a look at my LIVING THE CANADIAN DREAM and let me know what you think.
