If you are considering becoming an Internet Marketer then you really need a website, and if you are new to this business then you will already be twitching and wondering three things:
Psychologically, the whole concept of choosing a name for your brand can be very daunting. This is where many people fall victim to the dreaded "Paralysis By Analysis" and sometimes never actually get passed this stage. I can sympathize here because I went through a similar dilemma when I was at this particular point in my Marketing career.
However as we all know now, once you have built your website it is there permanently and there is nothing else to do apart from driving traffic to it.
That was not good enough for me because I wanted to expand my business. In fact Chris offers more business opportunities within his membership site that you an access for free. Well I did access those and I set up those businesses to run along the Snowbird and they were all running from the Snowbird domain name but running as separate businesses.

At the time this Blogsite was called:
and I didn't really have any kind of icon, I used a green cloud type banner with the dollar bills as a background and I intended having a similar name for my website.
Imagine having a website called:
That would have been tacky and I am glad I didn't go down that road, instead I looked at a shorter name that said a little something about me as well as my brand. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love camping and at some point in my life I would like to think that I will be doing this full time from home (or the RV)
Canadians who head South for the Winter are called "Snowbirds", the concept is pretty simple, you enjoy the beautiful Canadian Summer then as the weather turns cold up here you hitch up and head for warmer climes, ie, California, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississipi and Florida. Canadians head South in swarms and meet up with friends, forming little Canadian communities on campsites all across the Southern States. The first part of my plan goes ahead next month when we are able to apply for our Canadian Citizenship.
So that's how the Snowbird idea was born (or hatched LOL)
Well that seemed like a great plan, and it was I think. However, the term "Snowbird" is quite a popular one, there are many vacation companies using it and also don't forget the Royal Canadian Air Force's 431 Air Demonstration Squadron.
Go Daddy helped me out again here because they were able to offer me a selection of options that follow the part of the name after the last dot. I actually chose the .me because I thought it fitted rather well with Marketing Enterprises. In fact that again is how I chose the full name for my company Snowbird Marketing Enterprises. This name costs me $12.99 per year.
Once I had acquired my website name I then proceeded with the Marketing Course from Chris Farrell and set up my first website which was the original www.snowbird.me which introduced my readers to Chris's site. As a member of Chris's site myself I could also use Chris's FREE Hosting service which is great and very easy to use.
Again this is fantastic if that is all you intend to do, and for a little while this is in fact all that I did.

This is about the time i started to realize that the domain name SNOWBIRD has no relevance whatsoever to the content of the site. The trouble was that I had already got everything set up and it was going to be a huge job to change everything round.
My new plan was to have the www.snowbird.me point to a Main Page which I have called "Snowbird's Nest" and that is now the hub of my whole network, the HOME PAGE if you like. So just before Christmas I set to work changing everything round so it all makes sense.
http://www.snowbird.me point to the Snowbird's Nest.
http://www.snowbird.me/chrisfarrell.html points to the Chris Farrell page.
http://www.snowbird.me/Digicamcash.html points to the Earn $300 A Week With Your Digital Camera
http://www.snowbird.me/shoppingmall.html points to the Virtual Mall
http://www.snowbird.me/travel.html points to the Travel Shop
Of course there are plenty more links but I just wanted to show you those as an example. If you do decide that you wish to do Chris's Course then just remember how I managed to paint myself into a corner with the names. You can avoid this by setting your domain name out like this:
http://www.[YOUR DOMAIN NAME]. [???]/[CHRISFARRELL].html
That's just my advice, Chris is the expert but that was just my extra little input that allows you to expand a little quicker. Some people might argue that you could just buy another domain name and just use it separately. Remember Chris offers FREE web hosting as part of his membership so my idea is to utilize that and also keep your whole business under one brand name.
Well that is my whole domain name experience, I am glad I chose the Snowbird name and it has worked out pretty well for me. I thoroughly recommend GO DADDY.COM because they are well priced and very easy to use their website.
