Busy Weekend Cleaning the Jacuzzi And Applying For Canadian Citizenship

Well there goes another weekend, its now Sunday night and I am reflecting on a productive weekend. Saturday morning I got up early so I could rain the Jacuzzi. It was snowing and just below zero but it had to be done. Draining the thing in this weather isn't so difficult (or as crazy) as first appears.

First of all i threw the hosepipe in the tub to unfreeze it, then connected it to the drain plug and fed the pipe down into the basement and directly into the sump hole. Once it was empty I attacked what was left in the tub with the Shop Vac. When it was completely dry I wiped it out with a cloth, replaced the main filter and connected another wider hose from the outside tap to the tub and filled it back up. As soon as the tub was full enough I hit the power so the water could start warming up. The whole job was done in less than two hours although the water took another 10 hours to get up to the required 40 degrees C or 104 degrees F.

The next major task for this weekend was to prepare for the Citizenship application. I purposely left this until Sunday because I knew it was going to be a long drawn out process. I don't know whether i told you this before but i used to be a truck driver driving constantly between Canada and the US. Now I had to account for every single day that I was not physically present in Canada. Luckily I still have all my old logbooks so it was just a case of going through them one month at a time and filling in the online form. So by the time I had done all that and scanned all of the relevant documents, most of the day had gone.

Just as a matter of interest it has taken me just over four and a half years to qualify for this. Once I get the application in then it will take between 13 and 19 months to process so then I will be able to go to a Citizenship Ceremony and be awarded my Canadian Citizenship.

Just thought I would mention about the Visitor Boosting service. I have been testing it for quite a few weeks now and it does actually work.
