One thing I love doing is "Thought Bubbles", I will explain them to you in a later post once we start getting a little more "Techie".
Here is the result of a "Thought Bubble" Brain Storming session that I would love to share with you. I have to admit it is more geared to the Corporate World but I would like to point out MY definition of a Small Business:
"A small business is just a large Business that hasn't grown Yet"
- Publicity establishes you as an expert in your field
- You create a strong brand – the first person people think of in your industry
- Potential clients are “pre-sold” when they call you
- Those on the fence about working with you, now buy
- Clients pay for your consulting –at higher prices than before
- Clients work with you for longer periods because of your credibility
- Prospects come to your website or store ready to buy your book or product
- People recommend you to their friends, family, followers and fans
- Publicity can be free while advertising can be expensive
- A media article gives more credibility than a paid ad
- Other media read the articles and call you instead of you calling them
- More prestigious magazines and larger newspapers start to cover you
- Bigger TV and radio shows want to feature you
- You’re offered a column in a magazine or paper for your expertise
- You’re offered a TV or radio show
- You attract more people wanting to do joint ventures with you
- You attract a higher level of partners wanting to work with you
- More partners want to promote your services or carry your products
- Partners and vendors offer you discounts so they can work with you
- You attract investors to your company
- You attract better staff wanting to work for you
- You’re invited to speak at seminars, conferences and workshops
- You can charge for your speaking engagements and charge higher rates
- You establish yourself apart your competitors who don’t get publicity
- You’re elevated in status among your peers
- Other experts and influential people previously out of your reach are more accessible
- You generate new ideas or products because of the media interview or article
- Your staff is proud to represent you and stay with you longer
- You create a momentum for your business and new markets open up for you
- You drive traffic to your site from new sources
- New traffic helps your SEO improve and you come up higher in rankings
- Prospects you contact recognize your name (“I saw the article in…”)
- You can use “As seen in Entrepreneur Magazine” on your marketing materials
- You can launch a new service or product on a small budget
- People want to pay for a licence, rights or a franchise for what you have
- You become famous and get offered a book deal
- You’re more motivated and more confident about your offering
- You become more knowledgeable and have more conviction about what you do
- You receive awards or are included in “Best of” or “Top 5” – type lists
- An increase in self esteem affects other areas of your life
- People teach your ideas to others, establishing a ripple effect attributed to you
- More people pay attention to your message
- Clients pay more attention to your advice – and act on it
- You save people from making big mistakes
- You inspire others to achieve great things
- You change people’s lives
- You have fun knowing this is your passion and you are making a difference
- Your spouse, children, parents and loved ones are proud of you
- You attract a buyer for your company
- You leave a legacy
What do you think of this list? Can you think of any more to add?
